New England BBQ Society cookoff at Brookline, NH

The Brookline NH Fire Department and the New England BBQ Society will be co-hosting their 4th annual BBQ Contest and 2nd annual KidsQ on August 1st and 2nd, and a complete shedule of fun and competetive events will be played out over the weekend.
Saturday – Block Party
The BBQ dinner will be hosted by the Brookline Fire Department and food will be served from 11AM until 2PM, where Amy Conley will present "Rhythms That Rock You" for children and parents on djembes, guitar, banjo and lots of participatory & multicultural music for families.
There will be plenty for everyone to do, with a variety of participation events on offer including the "Rhythm Rope Project"Â where people will be involved creating a community percussion instrument that everyone can play.
For keen dancers, there will be a Giant Stretchy Rainbow Rope for those brave enough to dance while bouncing around uncontrollably!
The Fire and Iron Station 86 2nd Annual Motorcycle Poker Run will leave the Brookline Fire Station at 11AM and return to the Ball Field at around 2PM. The cost is $20 per bike and $15 for a passenger and includes a BBQ lunch and bottled water at the stops.
Other points of interest are face painters, tattooists and a horseshoe game.
Sunday – Contest Day
Breakfast will be served by the Brookline Fire Department beginning at 7AM. It will include waffles, bacon and sausage.
The second annual KidsQ is for youngsters 16 and under who would like to try their hand at competitive BBQ cooking. The entry fee is $5 and the category is Kabobs
The Brookline BBQ Competition costs $40 to enter and is open to anyone who would like to try out competition BBQ. The food categories include; Ribs and Chicken Wings that will be judged under the watchful eye of NEBS trained judges, while the pulled pork will go before the public vote.
For just $5 you will receive 5 different pulled pork samples and a ballot entry.
There will also be Free Fire Truck Rides in an antique fire truck and Smokey the Bear will be making special appearances throughout the day.
All events will be taking place at the Ball Field on Rte 130 in Brookline NH
