This book is fabulous. I got a new Weber propane gas grill. The recipes are very easy and the food is very tasty & flavorful. I haven't been much of an entertainer or a cook for that matter, but with this book I've had friends over every 1-2 weeks to try new recipes. Some my fav recipes have included Red-Rooster flank steak, grilled shrimp a la scampi, swordfish steaks with chili-lime butter, salmon fillets with red pepper puree and black beans, good recipes for grilling veggies on the grill or skewered too.
Lot's of Neat Things to Try

1. The weather is hot today -- 103

2. There's a good sale on shrimp at the local supermarket.

3. Solution: shrimp cooked outside on the grill.

4. Recipie: I like shrimp scampi. BUT I haven't been able to find a good recipie -- really, go look at the Italian cookbooks in the bookstore. And second scampi isn't normally cooked on a grill outside. SOLUTION: Page 102 of this book: Grilled Shrimp a la Scampi -- Tonight's dinner is planned.

Well, maybe not -- Page 103 Bacon Wrapped Spicy Barbecued Shrimp, or Page 104 Blue Thai Prawns with Green Curry Dipping Sauce

Another thing that we like is Tuna cooked outside - 6 different recipies.

Then there's his comment about taking the Baby Back Ribs and putting a dry rub on them, wrapping them tightly, and refrigerate overnight. Then you cook them with barbecue sauce of your choice. And I was just given a bottle of barbecue sauce made with Virginia Gentlemen bourbon. (Virginia Gentlemen won the Bourbon of the Year Award last year.)

Anyway, that's what a cookbook is for. Finding things that sound good, and that you hadn't seen before. And this book does a supurb job at that.
Excellent Grilling made easy

In addition to great recipes, this book also provides great grilling techniques for the novice and intermediate griller. Following the cooking instructions will always produce well seared, super moist chicken, fish and meats.

I bought the book for the recipes but was pleasantly surprised to find cooking guidelines as well. Preheating your grill, how many burners to leave on while cooking and at what temperature, how often to turn your meats, is included in every recipe. I was already fairly experienced at the grill and this book helped me to grill great food consistently. Whether I use a recipe found in the book or not.

One of my favorite recipes is the Thunder Thighs. Hot-n-Spicy chicken thighs in a soy, Asian hot sauce marinade. Fantastic. Works perfectly every time and is a big crowd pleaser.

I highly recommend Gas Grill Gourmet.

I was always good at BBQ'ing with the Gas Grill, but i ran out of ideas on what to do next. This book is amazing, it opened up a whole new BBQ world to me, and encouraged me to experiment more. There isnt one recipie i tried that i didnt like. My personal favorite is the Briskett!
A perfect companion for your Gas Grill

Reviewer: David De Sousa,
Let me first say that I love barbecuing, and I guess you do, or you wouldn't even be checking this or any other barbecue book. I try to grill my family dinners almost every weekend, so I would have to say that I have put on thousands of barbecues this far. I own several barbecue and grilling books, and this is one of the best. I consider this book great because with the recipes on it I can try every now and then to make something a little bit different (I guess just to avoid a mutiny among my family crew, Ja Ja).

I don't have to do a fancy or hard to find ingredients, or follow step-by-steps a recipe that might requires to long, but I get great ideas that help me introduce variations that keep the weekends barbecues interesting and fun the whole family.

In this book you will find some recipe or idea that you can try, or just learn something new from the "Basics of Gourmet Gas grilling" included at the beginning of the book.

Last, but not least, always enjoy the experience of barbecuing and grilling at home, with or without this book. With your own recipes or with borrowed recipes. Just enjoy the moment and have a lot of fun with family and friends around the grill.

I love this cookbook and have given copies to friends and family. I purchased this new edition because my old one fell apart from use.

I originally found this book at Half Price Books. If you love herbs, vinegars, marinades that are relativly easy, you will love this book. I pick a recipe for every Saturday Night to enjoy. The instructions are almost fool proof because working with the flame of the grill can be challenging.
