Though this stove takes up a good bit of space in the back of my Jeep, it's well worth it when you can get up in the morning( a windy one at that) and cook eggs, bacon, and.....make coffee!!!!! I had a two burner one, also great quality, but sold it to get this one. Very happy with my choice. It has the same great construction features and simple reliable function that my dads always had. I expect this one to be given to my kids when I get some. I like the liquid fuel over the propane because it is cheaper, and it uses the same fuel as my coleman lanturn. Also in a pinch you can use gasoline(would be great in a survival/emergency situation). Besides the extra size it takes up when packing, the only thing I don't like is there is no way to drain all the fuel out the tank when you want to store it. You could siphon it...I guess. I never did read the instructions either. Anyway, great reliable coleman product.
Happy Husband

My beloved husband had an old Coleman 2 burner stove, almost on it's last coleman fuel breathe. He hates to get rid of anything as this old stove had cooked many meals and boiled many a shrimp for festive ocassions. My husband is passionate about his shrimp cooking. When he opened his new 3 burner Coleman stove he was delighted; which is the best he can do since he doesn't get excited about things like I do. He has shown everyone who visits us his new stove. Pounds of shrimp will be cooked and his famous oyster stew will be gently done on this new stove. Thanks for such a great price and fast shipping.
Exceeds performance expectations, great value for price

Coleman 3 burner campstove. Easy to assemble, light and operate. Operating instructions printed permanently on inside of top cover so you will never loose them. 3 individual adjustable burners. Center burner boiled 2 qts of water in pan in 3 minutes. Best camp gear purchase for the money I've made.

I took this stove on a 3-day Boy Scout campout. It was easy to light and use. No real problems. I only have a couple of hang-ups. The fuel vaporizer feeds the middle burner and the other two burners feed off of the middle one. Consequently, the two side burners don't heat with the same BTU's as the middle one. This comes into play when you have a wide pan covering two burners... one side will be hotter than the other. It wasn't too difficult to work with that but I thought I'd put it down. The other thing is that if you spill anything, it will go under the burners (of course) and is hard to clean. Not a big deal really. Just be more careful. The fill hole in the tank is small so bring a funnel if you don't want white gas all over your hands.
The stove was light and took a beating for three days with no issues. We were all well fed! I liked having the 3 burners to cook with two and have coffee going on the third. We also used it to heat water for doing the dishes afterwards while still cooking or keeping food warm. That was quite handy. Coleman white gas is cheap and clean. The stove is easy to use and the Coleman company wisely stenciled the lighting instructions on the lid knowing that the instructions would never make it to the campsite. (Good call on their part!) In case you're wondering... the advantage of liquid fuel over propane is that if you're in a very cold environment, propane won't vaporize to fuel the burner. White gas will even when well below freezing. I would have given it 4.5 stars but that's not an option. |
Fits the bill

Very easy to operate and reliable even in very cold wether when hunting elk, a bit flimsy with the metal work but that doesn't effect the preformance I would buy it again and again.

My dad and I have been going camping since I was 5 years old. I am now 26 and we still go to the same lake every summer. We have had this style Coleman stove for as long as I can remember. My dad actually had this stove before I was born. It is still going strong today! Although it is a little beat up and after cleaning it with a stove cleaner (all the green paint is gone) it still works like new. I highly recommend this stove to the camping enthusiast! Enjoy your killer breakfast as we have for 20+ years!
Coleman dual fuel stove

When I ordered this burner, the description said "dual fuel", but did not state which two fuels could be used. I thought it would be propane or the Coleman liquid fuel. I was wrong.......it actually was coleman liquid fuel or UNLEADED GASOLINE. Of course we did not want to cook with gasoline. My husband went to Wal-Mart and was able to buy everything he needed to convert the burner to propane at a cost of $50.00.
We are now using the burner and are happy with it, just wish we had know in advance that we would have to spend an additional $50.00 to get it working for us.
