Nelson and Rebecca Oliveira, owners of the The Portuguese Fire Pit are onto something good with their 3 month old BBQ takeout and delivery restaurant based in Taunton, MA.
The food is carefully prepared over a traditional charcoal barbecue grill, and the eateries food offers additional variety to the many restaurants in the Silver City. All food at the Fire Pit is prepared in the traditional way which is referred to as churrasqueira, which is the Portuguese word for "house of barbecue".
The European Brazilian elaborated the idea further around the turn of the century, and it has become synonymous for a place in which you continuously partake all kind of meats in full circle until you are more than fully satiated; This is called, 'RodÃzio' ,which means 'in cycle'.
The Portuguese Fire Pit is a delight for fans of great tasting BBQ food, and the menu offers a wide range of meats which include chicken, ribs, pork chops and steaks, all of which are cooked with loving care from which emanates the wonderful aroma of lumpwood charcoal.
Prices at the Portuguese Fire Pit restaurant range from under ten dollars for half a BBQ chicken to around $20 for a large T-bone steak.
The main plates are all served with rice and a side of fries making the meals middle-of-the-road in terms of price, and all the Fire Pit's menu is available for take-away for delivery.
Looking forward to the future, the owners are already working on a wider and more varied menu and also offer two sauces on the side of every dish, one of which is Piri-Piri based and available upon request.

Oh how I wished I lived in MA right about now! My husband is Portuguese and I would LOVE to take him to this place if for no other reason to try it! They have Piri Piri sauce which I’m now addicted to so that’s another plus right there! :)
