Digital BBQ Tongs – Gadgetry for the Grill

There are no shortage of gizmos and gadgets for the technologically inclined BBQ chefs out there, many of which are little more than just a humourous device with relatively little practicality.

This one however caught our eye recently as it could be handy for those who operate a barbecue without a meat thermometer or temperature guage while they are cooking.

The lightweight Digital BBQ Tongs operate quite simply, by penetrating the meat and within a few moments reports back with an accurate reading on a brightly lit LCD display, showing the interal temperature of the meat.

They are also equipped with a loud alarm to alert you when the meat is done properly, though I would be inclined to test it with a knife or skewer just to be on the safe side until you get used to using them.

The tongs have a fairly robust construction and should stand up to a reasonable amount of use and priced at around $40, they look like good value for money.

So, for budding backyard grillers who are looking for highly specced tongs that benefit from having an accurate inbuilt temperature guage to check meat's doneness, they are the way to go.
