This weekend 20th-21st February, in affiliation with the Florida Barbeque Association, the Haines City Parks & Recreation Department is sponsoring Ribs on the Ridge, in Haines City Florday which will draw barbeque teams from across Florida and other states.
2010 marks the second year of this event, which has proved to be very popular with Floridians and fans of BBQ in the locality.
Professional and amateur teams will compete for cash prizes, trophies and “bragging rights.†which will provide a great introduction for the local residents to the art of outdoor BBQ cooking.
In addition to the professional and amateur barbeque divisions, other competitions planned are a
Kid’s-Q division, a sauce contest as well as a dessert contest. Scheduled activities include live outdoor entertainment featuring local bands will round out the festivities.
Haines City are proud to mention the second year of the Ribs on the Ridge event, and rightly so. It is anticipated that a very large crowd will attend the event this year following the popularity of last years event.
Ribs on the Ridge is open to allcomers who may attend and compete if they wish.
