The HAVA BBQ London Bridge Style in Lake Havasu City, AZ., is home of the State Championship. Nationally ranked & World Championship BBQ Teams are competing in (4) main categories, chicken, ribs, pulled pork and brisket.
The food categories include “Anything Butt†and “Dessertsâ€, in addition to which, the old favorite "Havasu Salsa Challenge" is making a comeback at this years event.
The HAVA BBQ London Bridge Style event is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) and is a qualifier for the Jack Daniels (Lynchburg, TN) and American Royal Invitational (Kansas City, MO) Competitions with a prize money pot of $9300 dollars.
HAVA BBQ has also notably teamed up with AZ Barbeque Society and will be one of the events within the state where teams will compete for Arizona State Team Champion.
This years number of teams attending HAVA BBQ has grown, with around 75 attending, including Notley Que, Notley Que, T&J's Backyard BBQ, I.A.B. 30 BBQ, Tropical Heat BBQ, Smitty's Smoke Patrol, Brazen BBQ, Catalina BBQ Company, and BLQUE among many others.
The contest is currently underway with pits and crews cooking their hearts out, the results of which will follow shortly.
