Grilled Buffalo Chicken Wings
Buffalo
BBQ wings are always popular, and this recipe is no exception
Ingredients
18-20 chicken wings or chicken drummettes
2 tablespoons of red wine vinegar
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon cayenne red pepper
1/4 teaspoon Sriracha chili sauce
1/4 teaspoon Tapatio hot sauce
1/4 teaspoon Pico Pica hot sauce
1/4 teaspoon of sea salt
1 clove of garlic, minced
Preparation
Preheat barbecue grill to medium heat.
In a gallon-size Ziploc bag, combine the red wine vinegar, vegetable
oil, cayenne red pepper, Sriracha chili sauce, Tapatio hot sauce, Pico
Pica hot sauce, minced garlic and sea salt.
Whisk the ingredients together in the bag until well blended into an
almost paste-like consistency.
Place the chicken wings or drummettes, or a combination of both, into
the bag and zip it closed.
Gently toss the chicken in the bag until well coated.
Place the bag of chicken wings in the refrigerator and let marinate for
20-30 minutes.
Reduce barbecue grill heat to medium-low.
Place the chicken wings directly on the grill and cook for six minutes
on each side, turning them only once.
Place the wings on a serving plate.
Serve the wings while still warm along with blue cheese or ranch
dressing to dip them in. Celery sticks, cucumber and radish slices are
also good accompaniments as they cool the palate from the spicy wings.
The heat of the wings can be easily varied. To make a batch of medium
spicy wings just use the recipe exactly as given above. To create even
hotter wings, double the amount of hot sauce in this recipe but be
forewarned, this will make them extremely spicy and almost too hot for
most people to eat.
