Slow Cooker bbq Bean Recipe
Ingredients:
* 2 cans of kidney beans * 1 can of navy beans * 1 bag of frozen lima beans * 1 can of black beans * 1 can of whole kernel corn * 1 clove of minced garlic * 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce * quarter cup brown sugar (or brown sugar twin) * half cup of ketchup * half teaspoon of dry mustard * half teaspoon of allspice * quarter teaspoon of onion powder * Tabasco sauce to taste
Directions:
Drain
the kidney beans and corn only. Do not drain the other beans. Combine
all of the ingredients in your pot and stir gently. Cook on a
relatively low heat for around four to eight hours.
Another
method: You can prepare this delicious recipe for bbq beans in the oven
instead of in your dutch oven. Simply preheat oven to 350 degrees,
cover with aluminum foil, and bake for approximately one hour.
For variety:
For
a smoky taste, add in crumbled bacon before cooking. You can also
experiment with adding other types of beans. For example, I have
substituted one of the cans of kidney beans for a can of chickpeas
before with success.
